David will be missed so much.David will be missed so much.
The first time I met David, we instantly clicked. I was interviewing him to be an optician in my office, and what was supposed to be a 30-minute interview turned into almost two hours. I knew right away he was special. He was hired immediately—Dr. Rob liked him just as much.
David and I shared so many great times, not only at work but in life. Our friendship grew beyond the office, and we were able to share amazing moments with our wives as well. When David and Patrice came to our daughter’s quinceañera, Patrice immediately clicked with Lily, my wife. That connection meant so much to us. Later, we invited them to our other daughter’s baby shower, and they both came over—we all had such a great time together.
I saw so much potential in David, and I truly wanted to help him get the position he wanted. When the opportunity came, I fought for him. My DM and my boss didn’t think David was ready and didn’t believe he could be a great OM. But I assured them he was more than capable. I even offered to trade another optician who wanted more hours so David could get the opportunity. After a few months, my boss finally gave David the chance to become an OM. David was so happy—and I was incredibly proud, even though I was also a little sad because he was my best friend at work, and everything was better when he was around.
The funny part is that I once tried to scare David and told him, “Bro, you’re going to hate being an OM.” He laughed and said, “Nah, you just want me to stay as your optician.” I told him, “Okay.”
Once he got the position, I called to congratulate him and asked, “So David, how is it so far? Fun, right?”
He said, “Bro… I hate it!!” 😆
A few months later, I called him and said, “Bro, I quit!”
He replied, “Nah, you’re joking!”
I told him, “No bro, you’ll hear it from your DM.”
He didn’t believe me until a few hours later. Then he called and said, “I can’t believe you did it!”
I said, “Sorry, brother—I need a long time off.” 😁
I was always so happy and proud of David. When I heard he was managing two offices, I texted him and said, “David… are you Superman?” He just laughed. 🤣
Oh man, David… you will be missed so much. I still can’t believe you’re gone.
Thank you for being you brother! You always will be remembered! Art Zuniga 01/28/2026

I miss David. He was one of the sweetest kindest person I ever met. I wish that we all can live up to him. Lien NghiemI miss David. He was one of the sweetest kindest person I ever met. I wish that we all can live up to him.
